Hi all, welcome to 2012. I know it’s February, well nearly March but it’s been a bit hectic around here. I haven’t been up to much but work, work and work. I’ll have a couple of posts up in the next couple of days to catch you up.
Here’s a picture of the little Daisy dog who is now one year old. How time flies.
I’ve just watched Black Caviar win her 16th race from 16 runs. This mare is just so beautiful to watch. She brings a tear to my eye everytime she runs because she just makes it look for effortless.
When I came home yesterday I was greeted by the most wonderful surprises. Last week I ordered these from a couple of sellers on Ebay. In that pile there is a Terrain (by Kate Spain) Layer Cake and some Terrain yardage. I also couldn’t resist a Little Apples (by Aneela Hoey) Charm Pack and lastly in the bottom left is a Charm Pack of Good Fortune by Kate Spain. I was really excited about this because this range is not due out until January 2012. It is gorgeous or what?
I’m so excited that my Month 2 package of the This Goes with That & the Fussy Cut Club BOM from Quilt Fabric Delights.
The fabrics are so gorgeous. You will also notice that in this month’s fabric is one from my fav fabric designer, you guessed it Kate Spain. Yayyyyy.
Well today is Melbourne Cup day in Victoria in Australia. This year’s race has a lot of international contenders. It is one of the richest races in the Southern Hemisphere. Most people in Australia attend the race or if they can’t they usually attend lunches and watch the Cup on large screens. The Australian people want this day to be a national holiday but the government is just not coming to the party. Even those people who don’t have horses suddenly become horse experts on this day.
At a craft show I went to earlier in the year I found this cute little Sashiko cushion pattern. I am doing this in a brightly coloured variegated Cottage Garden threads. I’m really enjoying this. The photo is not very good. Sorry
Earlier in the year I wrote about starting a Hexagon Quilt project from the Moda Bakeshop using a Layer Cake. For this project I used a Layer Cake called Fandango from my favourite designer Kate Spain. I finally finished the quilt top the other day. These aren’t are very good photos but photos notheless.
This is a pic of the quilt hanging on the clothes line. I didn’t have anyone to hold it for me for a photo.
Another photo at a bit closer angle.
I absolutely love this quilt.

A couple of weeks ago I received an exciting email from Sarah at Quilt Fabric Delights. She was starting another BOM which was the “This Goes with That and the Fussy Cut club”. This is a paper piecing project from Sue Daley at Patchwork with Busy Fingers.
This is the cute little carry tote with the pattern that arrived for the first month.
This is what I made for this month.
See how I have fussy cut some of the pieces. I love the little owls. So cute.
I placed an order with Hancock’s of Paducah about 5 weeks ago and I have been waiting patiently, patiently and patiently. According to my order status it left Paducah 3 and a half weeks ago. Anyway when I came home today I had a package waiting for me.
I ordered a charm pack of Terrain, the new line from Kate Spain and also a couple of yards of Flurry also by Kate Spain. You know I just love her fabrics.
In other fabric shopping news I’ve also bought these couple of goodies.
This is some yardage of Terrain and Central Park both from Kate Spain and also Sunkissed from Sweetwater.
Just an assortment of various designers and fabrics.
I’ve been doing a little bit of fabric retail therapy the last week or so. I bought a collection of these from various shops and I also picked up some Cottage Garden Threads which I am totally loving.
